Isn't it interesting how one's preconceptions can influence their thinking? According to an above comment Jesse saw his lyrics as saying that evetually you will reach an eternity after this life. I see it as: you're going to die . . . so who gives a fuck what you do. |

The way I read it: The song is (obviously) about someone going through a "desperate time." It could be the cynic in me, but I see the chorus representing the speaker as saying that if all else fails, I will kill myself, and please remember me. I don't really see a religious connection at all. I see the religious imagery, but I think it is more or less used to exaggerate the suffering of the speaker, not as a literal connection. Just my take. |
