| whoever wrote that this song isnt good is just disconnected from musical talent. when i saw this song on the album i had remembered that they played it live many times over the last few years. and after listening to it and refreshing my memory you can tell that they are having fun playing this song. after the last part of the first half of the song, jack gives a "woo" and they go of into a little jam and separate song. its the 1 song i cant wait to see live. i didnt look through all of these, but here is the meaning- lying in my plastic bed thinking how things werent so cool to me- does refer to detox, not jail as someone wrote earlier. brad was in and out of detox 11 times, obviously it wasnt fun tying off that dinasaur tonight- a dinasaur was often another way to describe the the tools to cut off the blood/ elicit a vein for shooting it used to be so cool- obviously he is conflicted b/c he realizes how dangerous it is now, but he used to love it without realizing any consequences now ive got the needle and i can shake but i cant bleed- pretty clear, more conflict with getting ready to shoot but not shooting, b/c there would be blood once he shoots up so its him sort of acknowledging the rules (i am not allowed to bleed) take it away but i want more and more- hes defeated his urge but he still wants it one day im gonna lose the war - he wont always be able to defeat his urge and will eventually die. great song. RIP brad -LORD HAVE HIS GRILLED CHEESE- |

nobody really wrote any insight about the song here.... brad spent some time around the islands with his dad after his parents got divorced and thats what got him into the reggae style. so...... stolen from an african...... is describing the locals on the island where he was staying. in these areas music was a huge part of the culture and would often be played until all hours of the night (bars are always open.... and ..... the music goes all night) FYI the phone number was an old number of brads but its not anymore so dont call it there are also many songs where he mentions rubbers/protection/disease so this is following suit here and of course the original version of the song had - ICE is my best friend tonight so....dont push me too far- im sure we all are aware of his drug habits.
