| Darren Hayes – I Like The Way Lyrics

I loved this song from the first moment I heard The Tension and The Spark, but when I heard him perform this acoustically at an in-store... WHOA. Just hearing it bare and raw like that gave me the absolute chills. Darren is such a brilliant songwriter and performer. |

I think the song's pretty straight forward as to its meaning. But part of me wonders, could this also be true for someone who's in love with their best friend, and yet the other person doesn't feel the same? |

I still remember the first time I saw the music video for "Back At One." Not to take anything away from the Brian's gorgeous voice, but I think the whole concept for that video really sold this song for me. Absolutely stunning. I actually cried in the student center while watching TRL. How does that happen? |

Anyone else out there totally remember the cover of this on MMC? JC Chasez singing lead and Tony Lucca playing guitar and singing backup. So beautiful. Anyways, I guess I can see how some people would want to think it's about showing physical love. Not me though. I'm a hopeless romantic for sure. |

It took me a long time to really love this song. It's beautiful and sweet, but yes, it was all Justin. Mostly that was done to help promote the solo album he'd planned to start working on. Now that I'm out of my little fangirl phase, I can appreciate the lyrics and song itself. |

Anyone else think this was the perfect song while Kalinda took a baseball bat to Blake's car on a recent episode of "The Good Wife"? |

Oh, this so reminds me of my best friend's ex-girlfriend, Maria. She was a bitch and abused him in more ways than anyone should ever be treated in a relationship. What a psycho. |

I had to leave a comment, just because that's the funniest thing I've read all day. Only question is, does that work for or against him? |

Anyone ever hear Ernie Halter's acoustic version? After his, I don't think I even want to hear the original! (Sorry Baby Bash, T-Pain.)

| Flight of the Conchords – Too Many Dicks (On the Dance Floor) Lyrics

Here's a story about my best friend. I wish I could have been there to see this, just to capture it for YouTube or something. I made him a cd of the Season 2 songs, and after he heard this song, he left it on repeat in his car stereo. One night he picked up a client of his and completely forgot about the cd. The second he turned on his engine, Too Many Dicks started blaring full blast. My friend's face got flushed out of embarrassment. And the client? Oh, he loved the song! After the first moment of awkward silence, he was like, "Wow, now I know more about you than you probably ever wanted me to know. But the song has a killer beat!" |

That's a really interesting interpretation. It would make sense. It doesn't literally have to mean "flying to El Salvador." Thanks for that thought :) |

Could the girl in the song (and the singer) have been friends for a while, and this is that first step towards coupledom? It sounds like hesitation and nervousness about how much this will change their relationship, but it will be a good thing. |

What a great song. This takes me back to a college class I took, Music Cultures Of The World, where this song was one of the pieces we studied. I really consider this the first time I was exposed to music other than what had been playing on American Top 40 stations, and for that I'm grateful. |

| *NSYNC – I Drive Myself Crazy Lyrics

This was the first song of theirs that I actually willingly listened to; actually, the music video did it. I don't know what it was about the song that made me listen more than the others, but wow, I fell for their harmonies after that. It's such a beautiful sad song. The video cracks me up, and it's nice to see them put some of their friends/(now ex-) girlfriends in the video too.
Has anyone heard the alternate version of the song, from their European-released The Winter Album? It was called "Thinking Of You (I Drive Myself Crazy)" and featured JC with most of the lead vocals. Very interesting to listen to the two versions back-to-back and compare. |

This song is so delightfully tongue-in-cheek. They are all the things that you want to do to the person you're seeing, but will never ever actually tell them. Kind of like that scene in "Atonement." |

| No Doubt – Running Lyrics

When this song first came out, I thought it was cute and sweet, but tired of it after a few months of non-stop repeat radio play. That lasted for the last few years until last August. I was in Lane Bryant and the song came on the radio, and I fell in love with the song again because it had new meaning to me. One of my closest friends (a guy) and I had been on a road trip two months before, and in Ohio ended up driving through a tornado. We're from California, so that's easily the single-scariest thing we've ever lived through.
So when Gwen sings the following, it added a whole new layer to the song that I will never forget.
"Running, running,
As fast as we can,
Do you think we'll make it?
We're running,
Keep holding my hand,
So we don't get separated" |

I agree with what's been added previously. But I also wonder if the song is also a commentary on artists that put a huge production into their show with pyrotechnics, lasers, big costume changes, that sort of thing to hide their lack of singing and/or musical talent? |

In a lot of The Hives songs, they talk about being better than someone else, knowing it, and relishing every satisfying moment of it.
