This song's sad and happy at the same time--it's about leaving a woman you love, but then feeling the freedom from not being controlled by her anymore. I love this song, especially the guitar thing in between the choruses. It sounds kind of like a country song...so do a bunch of other songs on this CD. |

I think it's about more than masturbation...at least I hope so, it's my second favorite song from the Purple CD. I won't be able to listen to it anymore if it's just about jerking off. |

I used to think it was about a woman lying to her boyfriend about a baby she's pregnant with, and she's saying it's some other guy's baby but it's really his. "...And I know it was mine..." But now I agree with Cuevo. It's about a break-up or friends having a fight because of jealousy or fighting. |

| Stone Temple Pilots – Hollywood Bitch Lyrics

To me it's about a guy killing a Hollywood bitch... "You'll never lose it 'cause you never had it," means her life. because she's always had a fake Hollywood life. Or maybe it's about her accidentally killing herself with drugs and surgery and all the other stupidity that goes on around there. |

The words to this song seem like they're about a break-up but the song sounds too happy... I think he's happy to be away from whoever he lied to.
And I don't think this sounds like Pearl Jam at all, it's a great song. |

Oh, by the way, it says "meat" in the CD booklet but did anyone else notice there's a lot of mistakes in it? Like spelling mistakes and incorrect lyrics and stuff? |

I think he's imitating someone who's high, but he didn't do drugs until after this CD. And I think Mary is his future wife's name, which is weird.
Why do I know these things? |

I always thought it was Scott Weiland singing, I just thought he was yawning the whole time. He changes his voice on every CD, so he could have been making it sound like that on purpose.
I actually did laugh out loud at the end because I wasn't expecting it at all. Kitchenware and Candybars is so emotional and dramatic and now this piece of crap comes on, it sounds like something from a nightclub in the '40s. This is such a good CD.
And the Chinese symbol on the front means "Purple", that's what the title is. |

| Stone Temple Pilots – Plush Lyrics

I know it was based on some story about a girl going missing, but I can't see how.
I think it's about a girlfriend who doesn't want to see him anymore but she can't bring herself to breaking up with him. So she's just drifting away and giving excuses to not see him, but he knows it's a lie... "...So much depends on the weather...so is it raining in your bedroom?" He can see right through the lies, because she's just giving shallow excuses and they don't make sense. |

| Stone Temple Pilots – Dumb Love Lyrics
|
I think this song is about things like drugs and masturbation and how meaningless they are... As in "dumb love", they don't really love you, they're just tools to make you feel better.
"Keep you coming back for more", as in addiction.
"Alcohol, it's a lie", meaning that alcohol won't really make you feel better, it'll just get you drunk but then you'll feel worse afterwards.
"Stimulate the needle in your eye"--the needle, or the heroin, is blinding him from what truly matters.
"Touched myself, nearly went blind"--you know what they say about touching yourself...
"Couldn't find a way to live through the pain"...so he did drugs and drank too much to make all the pain go away.
"Couldn't get out of bed, ten ton bricks lying on my head"--maybe a reference to a hangover and how the things he "loved" only made his life worse.
"Persecute the crucified, kill a man for losing his mind"--because he kept getting in trouble with the law for an addiction that he couldn't get rid of. |

| Stone Temple Pilots – All in the Suit That You Wear Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
I think it's about being a soldier in the war...the suit that you wear is the uniform.
"...Are you ever gonna set us free?" meaning when are we going home?
"Are you ever gonna surrender, do you even care?" meaning both the enemy and the government that put them into battle.
"All in the suit that you wear...when you wear it" meaning that maybe the war is meaningless, they're fighting just for the sake of fighting.
That's just what I think...and no, I'm not anti-war, but I think the song is. Still one of STP's best songs. |
