| John Mayer – Stitched Up (With Herbie Hancock) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think this is how the song actually goes: >True, there was a woman >Yes, she didn't face my way >And I can’t be sure exactly but I swear I saw her say my name I love this song and the beat.. it's so bluesy-jazzy. It's amazing I love everything about it and John's voice sounds great. |

| John Mayer – How Much It Hurts Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| who cares? It's still a great song, the artist's name doesn't degrade a song, or make it better for that matter. I could write a song and even though nobody knows me, that wouldnt stop people from commenting on it, because the content's what matters. | |
| John Mayer – Man on the Side Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The worst part about it Is I would be free when you wanted me/ If you wanted me. And I'm with all the other women who've commented on this song. Trust me, girls feel this way too. I'd say it's probably even harder for us girls 'cause most of us wouldn't go up to a guy and go 'I love you', as desperate as you may be. And guys, even with fear to rejection, know they have this sort of 'social right or obligation/expectation' to be the one to take the first step. I wouldn't know, it's a confusing topic, but still, it applies to women, too. This is such a powerful song, damn John Mayer. |

| John Mayer – Free Fallin' (Tom Petty cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| And yeah, Indoor Use Only, I hadn't noticed that big an improvement in his voice, but *literally* have watched the Where the Light is DVD every day since I got it and the other day I watched the Any Given Thurdsay DVD and yes, his voice has improved sooooooooo much, as have his performances. It's basically the same thing, same rugs and just a couple of mics, guitars, bass and drums, but he's grown so much artist-wise. | |
| John Mayer – Free Fallin' (Tom Petty cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I've loved Tom Petty's version for years but I gotta admit John really knows what he's doing. He took a long shot covering this song and wooow did he do it. I love that even if it's the same song, it sounds like a completely different one. He adds stuff of his own to the song, that's what covers are supposed to be like. Tom Petty sounds excited about falling for this person, while John sounds much calmer and excited but still sort of scared and anxious about it. It's so odd that an artist manages to cover a song and make it sound better than the original. Different, at least. I loved it. |

| John Mayer – In Your Atmosphere (Where The Light Is version) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Definetely Jennifer Love Hewitt. As soon as I heard the first line she came to my head, but I really wouldn't know. And a few mistakes again - I don’t think I’m gonna go to L.A. anymore Get lost on the boulevard at night Without your voice to tell me I love you, take a right The 10 and the 2 is the lonely sight. At first I didn't care much for this song, it seemed too repetitive. But once I listened carefully to the words, it's become one of my favorites. Sounds like the old John we first heard from in 'Room for Squares'. 'And sunset says we see this all the time, nevermind, never you mind.' I love that part. You're always asking to anyone or anything who would answer for an explanation or a consolation. And I agree, I mean in his case, yes, he follows their lives through magazines while I, on the other hand watch their lives through pictures on Facebook and stuff. Not that I'm a stalker hahah it's just like an automatic thing. As much as I know it hurts, I always find myself watching pictures of him. |

| John Mayer – Why Did You Mess with Forever Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"now everything inside me tells me that I should run to you and throw my arms around you. Hold your steaming crying cheek against my own and tell you nothing's wrong but wrong was what you were when you forgot that we were going on" That's too relatable, I love this guy so much I'm starting to hate him. Seriously, how does he do it? and I'm sure some of the lines are wrong, too. According to me, the song goes like this: I came by to get my things thank you for getting the door but I don’t feel right walking in no more. You think it's cold I did my crying at home I'm numb now I'm numb now before I'm on my way I've one more thing to ask was it worth the price you paid for my never coming back? why did you mess with forever such a long time to be unkind why did you mess with forever Don’t you call me cruel cruel's what you're making me do I stick to my rules I'm at odds with me now So stay, don't, go ahead and stay Before I’m on my way. I've one more thing to ask was it worth the price u paid for my never coming back why did u mess with forever such a long time to be unkind why did you mess with forever such a long time to be unkind you asked to kiss me once goodbye but you already did on somebody else's lips tell the tiny chemicals the ones you hold responsible they lost me you lost me now everything inside me tells me I should run to you and throw my arms around you. Hold your steaming crying cheek against my own and tell you nothing's wrong but wrong is what you were when you forgot that we were going on, we were going on We were going on tell me why did you, why did you mess with forever what a long time to be unkind why did you mess with forever why did you mess with forever I JUST LOVE THIS SONG TOO MUCH. AND THE TITLE.. I MEAN, IT'S STUFF EVERYONE WRITES ABOUT, MOST SONGS TALK ABOUT THIS AND PEOPLE CHEATING ON THEM AND ALL, BUT HE JUST HAS HIS OWN WAY. IT'S UNIQUE. |

| John Mayer – Split Screen Sadness Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think the 'split screen sadness' thing is about having two sides to this sadness they're feeling. After a breakup, you're glad in a way that it's over because it was too confusing, difficult, painful etc.., but you're sad too, 'cause even though you had some downs in the relationship, you'll miss all of it, even the bad parts. As there are two sides to everything in life. | |

| I know, I can't believe he hasn't released this one yet. I've looked everywhere for it. | |
| John Mayer – Goodbye (Tribute to New York911) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| First time I heard this song, I didn't think it was John either, but it is. He did write this song and sings it, too. He actually sang it along with someone else, (I can't remember with whom at the moment), in NYC as a tribute. It IS an amazing song. Leaves you speechless. | |
| John Mayer – I'm Gonna Find Another You Lyrics | 17 years ago |

| John Mayer – Stop This Train Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
'and you don't miss a thing till you cry when you're driving away in the dark.' it's funny how day-by-day nothing seems to change and then, one day, you decide to take a look at your life and you realize so much's changed. and there are times when you'd just like to have a stop button to life. I just love this song, it's so... relateable but in a harsh way you know, it hurts realizing how much things've changed and the fact that you can't go back to when life was *or at least seemed to be* all pink. |

| John Mayer – How Much It Hurts Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Whose ever it is, its a great song. one of my faves actually, and John does a great work singing to this. | |
| John Mayer – Wheel Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It's just about how life goes on, even if you don't notice it, if you just stop for a second and look around you'll see that the world keeps moving, that life goes on, that while you stop your life, others are living it. IT hurts to realize that because all you do is wonder how can everyone around seem so normal and keep on with their lives and their every-day activities while you're in so much pain and it seems like nothing will ever be the same -at least to you. I believe that my life's gonna see The love I give Return to me- best line John's ever written. |
|
| John Mayer – The Hurt Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I love this song. I see it as if he's talking about being with someone just out of necessity, because it's better than being alone. The 'lie to myself' I think means that he's lying to himself when he says he loves her, he's just with that other person out of convenience. Even when a realtionship's bad for you, you're still there, even if you're being hurt, if it's not working out or if it's not real, feeling the hurt is better than feeling nothing at all. I guess in the end it does sort of make you feel alive. | |
| John Mayer – Split Screen Sadness Lyrics | 17 years ago |

this song gets me every time. it's got to be one of john's best. he's so talented he just knows how tu put everything we all feel at some point down on paper and you can relate to every single one of his songs. it's like listening to something you're feeling but don't know how to say it. i cry my eyes out every time i hear this song. 'all you need is love is a lie 'cause we had a love but we still said goodbye.' that's a great line but it's so depressing. the part that makes me cry everytime is 'i know it was me who called it over but i still wish you'd fought me 'till your dying day'. it just gets me everytime. ((At least i think that's what it says.. i noticed the lyrics in here are different, but that's what makes sense to me)). |
