ok--well, I believe the lyrics are totally off..but, I could be wrong. I think instead of "She's the sweetest taste I've seen," I think it's "she's the sweeatest taste of sin," which would make more sense, since the song is obviously about a desire that he shouldn't have. He's full of lust and has become completely consumed by her. He just can't stop--but at the same time he doesn't want to. It's obviously a struggle, but he's weak. |

I guess this song could be interpreting in many ways, but there are two that come to mind. Of course it could be about a love affair and not being able to let go, which is what I have always thought. But, as I read through the lyrics again....I started to get the feeling it was about death. Maybe someone he loved so much was mentally tormented (suicidal, depressed, whatever) and he wasn't aware of how conflicted this person was....and has assumed a guilt, or responsibility for it. I believe he truly loved ths person with all his heart, he just didn't know how (or couldn't) help bring this person out of their mental prison. Just a new take on a very old song. ;) |

So, I think this song is definitely about wanting someone you can't have.....maybe because you're in another relationship? or perhaps married? Or, quite possibly it's taboo. Either way, Despite the strong feelings she's holding back because she says "goodnight and go"...but still, the fantasy of it all seems to consume her curiosity about what it could be like. Just my opinion. |
