yes, this song is definitely about the relationship between his parent's through one of their eyes (his mother's it seems). it is so real and so beautiful. i cried the first time i heard it. the reference to his father getting seriously sick is the same as the one from the format's "on your porch." the little section after the 30 years line is so sweet. he sings it like he knows what it's like for them. maybe this is a tribute to the love he has been surrounded by all his life. |

i agree. this song is phenomenal. i think she really misses her friend "andy" except i don't reallt think she necessarily has to have suicidal tendencies. people take pills for so many reasons these days and sometimes you just lose your will to be dependent off of them.
i think we all have stayed awake at night wishing for someone to sing us to sleep, and here is a person singing for everyone who has no one. |

this song is such a new sort of upbeat for jack's. i love that andrew is trying new things with his voice on the record and showcasing the band more, and this song displays perfectly.
i think each song on here, this included, has some lyric/reference about his struggle with leukemia mixed in. |

this song amazes me. when i first heard it live in april, i couldn't wait to here it on record.
now, it did not prove me wrong. i love the simple repeated piano line. it's almost eerie, but ends on a positive note, kind of like his personal struggles.
the electric part shocked me! it brings such a powerful addition to that song. i think this is jack's new mfeo. mellow, then rocking and long enough to end the show. :) |

i hope everyone finds someone like this :)
and i also love the piano throughout, just like the "fingers, built for the piano" are with him in the song. |

to me, it's like the song is to god, whether he believes in him or not. it's so utterly depressing, in the amazing true way about how our world is shaping up.
he lost faith in god a long time ago, hoping to find in people. now these people have let him down too. now what does he have left but to turn back to an entity that he already gave up on? disparity at its finest. |

i don't think it's their first kiss. i sort of feel like it's a second chance for them. the nervousness does imply that firstness, but the intimacy that they share seems to have a hint of a prior history.
it makes me want to be in that scene, either way :) |

this song is amazing. i love the plays on typical cliche statements. they are so true, especially the last two lines.
no one says things quite like matt pryor. |

this song is so poignantly beautiful.
i love when all voices come in at the end; it gives me goosebumps.
i feel like it offers some hope to all the hopeless people in the song. |
