Fall Out Boy – Yule Shoot Your Eye Out Lyrics 17 years ago
I adore both the pun and the movie reference in the title, first of all. As for the meaning of the song, it's obviously about one of those nice little yule tide break ups that give us all the warm fuzzies. (Not.) Love this song, love this band.

Yellowcard – Life Of A Salesman Lyrics 17 years ago
I believe this song's meaning kinda goes without saying. I just think it's cool to see a song about somebody's father that doesn't say, "You fucked me up, thanks asshole."

My Chemical Romance – Stay Awake Lyrics 17 years ago
I don't think these lyrics are right, but they're probably close enough.

I love this song so much! I heard it when I bought The Black Parade Is Dead!, and it blew me out of the water. This is a song that can, will and maybe even already has saved lives.

My Chemical Romance – Welcome To The Black Parade Lyrics 17 years ago
My Chem is truly amazing; they saved my life. (And THANK You ChemicalDeath. I come here to look at other people's interpretations of my favorite songs and all I see is disses and arguments.)

Anyway, back to the point. This song is extremely overplayed. However, before it was run into the ground, it was a really good song; relatively epic in comparison to the rap and other shit we hear so often today. (Although it's epicness was watered down a bit since you could tell that it was trying to be epic.)

Still, with Gerard's gorgeous voice and the amazing talent and energy of Frank, Mikey, Bob and Ray, this song sends a powerful message of hope and defiance. It's not just the story of "some emo parade." This is the tale of the today's youth, who have seen some horrible shit and have been through even worse. And yet we continue to march together in this dark world, trying to make the best of it.

Congratulations, MCR! You've done it again! (I saw them play this live at MSG on May 9th. It was fucking. AMAZING.)

Panic! at the Disco – That Green Gentleman (Things Have Changed) Lyrics 17 years ago
I personally see this song as a reference to their new style.

Things are shaping up to be pretty odd.
Little deaths in musical beds.
So it seems I'm someone I've never met.
--[This refers to the "death" of their old style. I take the somebody they've never met as some of their listeners, who claim that the band has died along with their original sound.]

You will only hear these elegant crimes,
Fall on your ears from criminal dimes.
They spill unfound from a pretty mouth.
--["Crimes" is sarcastic here, referring to their decision to sound different and the way it's been received; it's been generally disliked.]

Everybody gets there and everybody gets their way.
I never said I missed her when everybody kissed her,
Now I'm the only one to blame.
--[The first line says that they like this new take on things, and they know that a lot of other people will, too. The "her" referred to in the next line refers once again to their original style, saying that they didn't like it as much as everybody else did. "I'm the only one to blame" is sarcastic, as they made the decision to change things up. Kind of like, 'so sue me.']

Things have changed for me, and that's okay.
I feel the same, I'm on my way, and I say.
--[Obviously, this is saying that yes, they've changed. But they're the same band, and they've moved on musically. And damn it, they like this new vibe.]

I want to go where everyone goes,
I want to know what everyone knows
I want to go where everyone feels the same
--[This is poking fun at the listeners who say, 'But this new album is so different! I don't like it! I want the old sound back! Panic! isn't the same anymore!' They're saying that these listeners want the same crap that everyone else has seen and heard a million times before.]

I never said I'd leave the city,
I never said I'd leave this town.
A falling out we won't tiptoe about.
--[...Never got this line.]

I can never listen to this song without performing the trademark Wayne Campbell headbanging.

Dashboard Confessional – The Swiss Army Romance Lyrics 17 years ago
This is a fantastic song with an almost mocking tune and equally mocking (and almost pitying, or perhaps sympathetic) lyrics. It speaks of today's youth, who try so hard to be adult by age thirteen or so, and usually end up looking like wannabe fools in the process.

I don't think there's anything cryptic about the lyrics at all; it's about one of the girls that I'm sure you recognize-perhaps as one person, perhaps as several people, maybe even as yourself-as she tries to become an adult due to the notion that once you're twenty-one or so life is fun and you know exactly who you are. Which we know (on some level, at least) is complete bull. Yet we continue.

It also speaks about the consequences of this race for maturity; the most obvious one being that you look back on your time as a young person and realize that you never just stopped and enjoyed it. You simply "forge ahead to miss her [youth]."

I really connect to this song myself, being on the verge of turning fifteen and feeling this constant pressure to look and act like I'm eighteen.

My Chemical Romance – My Way Home Is Through You Lyrics 17 years ago
At the MSG concert on May 9th, Gerard said that this song is about being on the road and then he dedicated it to his wife. So apparently it's about being on tour and missing spending time with those you love.

My Chemical Romance – Desert Song Lyrics 17 years ago
Whenever I hear this song, I imagine the deserts of California just after twilight (when the sky is a dark velvet blue and it's just light enough to the silhouettes of cacti on the horizon) with MCR packing the last of their equipment into a van after playing a concert on some decrepit stage in the middle of a desert...a concert with no audience ["Rocking out just for the dead"]. And all the nocturnal desert animals are just waking up ["Well tonight, well tonight//Will it ever come?"] and coming out beneath the starry skies just as all the creatures of the day are falling asleep...

I know it's odd and really doesn't connect with a lot of the lines in the song, but that's just the picture I get in my head. :3

MCR IS AMAZING. I saw them play this live at MSG on May 9th...it was so eerie. Gerard was singing on the catwalk, bathed in blue cell phone light from the audience...it sent shivers down my spine.

My Chemical Romance – Kill All Your Friends Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song is about how so many people will do anything to fit in and be "cool"; how every day people lie and backstab and hit below the belt to get what they want.
