i think kaytahmcneil has it right. "But it's you who I long for when I cannot sleep It's enough it could drive me to drink" i believe the "you're the drink in my hand" analogy means that she's like a drink in his hand, pretty much how it says it. the EP is basically about them being on the road and touring, so it makes sense to me that it'd be how she (most likely his wife) is like a drink in his hand, so he doesn't need a real one. |

| The Classic Crime – The Beginning (A Simple Seed) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

"I left my heart in a plastic box on the bedside table. It will be locked 'til I get home." he doesn't seem to be planning on being with any other girl until he gets home. "I've grown feeble and tired of the world, and tired of constantly missing my girl. And I long to smell the sea I miss the Pacific Ocean and the northwest air, and to run each of my fingers through the strands of her hair. I've been all over this country lately, but I've been nowhere it seems, nowhere. Well, I've found the cure for my landlocked blues. It's coming home to you." while long, i'd say he's ready to go home. |

| Lifehouse – Am I Ever Gonna Find Out Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Sounds like someone has left him, hence the silence. "Silence is golden, but I think it's going to kill me now." Inbetween the struggle of trying to get over it, will he find a way if he keeps thinking about the past. "In between this am I gonna find a way to defeat this, living inside yesterday." "I'm alive, I think it's time to live like I am." Probably pretty self-explanatory. He hasn't been living like he's alive, but he is, so he needs to start living life again. In general, the first verse seems to be how everything was right, and then the bottom fell out. The second verse is him realizing he's waited too long to get over it. |
