| Kanye West – Dark Fantasy Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Yeah these religious fanatics are truly insane. What we don't see is the blatant racism twisted around these conspiracy theories of influential Black men and women, that have made it big in hip hop and R&B not because of their immense talent (Jay-Z, Kanye, Nas, Beyonce, Rihanna among the few), but because they have somehow sold their souls to the devil. A fictitious being that apparently has amazing taste in music and is a great producer and knows just where to place his support. Really? Get off of this Illuminati stuff. The Illuminati, when it did exists, didn't contain pop culture phenoms, but scientific geniuses that question the dogma and flat-world politics of the middle-ages. And if anything, the Illuminati members (I don't know why I am even humoring you with the idea that the Illuminati exists) were opposed to religion, which doesn't by definition mean they were in favor of some sort of occultism, or "satanism", they didn't believe the fairy tales of God, why would they believe and worship the fairy tale of Lucifer? Furthermore, the last verse can and should be interpreted in a much different way. The seance at the mall, alludes to consumerism, which criticism of is packed into this album. Heron, is the first of several mentions of Gil Scott-Heron, who is a huge influence on this record and you hear his spoken word at the end of the album, "Who Will Survive in America" Heiress is more than likely, used in its context, referring to Paris Hilton, the heiress of the Hilton franchise. Of course the lyrics take on an air of darkness, this is what the album is about, in an artistic vein. A nightmare, which the social and economic conditions in America certainly have influenced, especially in the Black community - with unemployment substantially higher than its counterparts - a nightmare, having achieved all you were working for, to find that it hasn't filled you and you remain empty, having lost your mother and having opened your eyes to the political nature of the nightmare which is America. And of course Kanye West reads and hears people talking about how he worships this demon or this Egyptian god, or this or that - why do you think he wouldn't draw from that, leave holes in it for people to "decipher" and in turn draw more publicity towards the songs. Get over the conspiracy and fundamentalism. And here's another clue for you all... The Walrus was Paul. |

| Joan of Arc – A Tell-Tale Penis Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
A Tell-Tale Penis Whoever else I may have been she'd still be going through this now But all the quiet hours I require still can't show me how I'm barely living In her halftime show Keeping warped minutes of her wishes and revisions And something's knocking 'round in me like a loose nut The tell-tale penis kick in the gut shot down my strut The walls are beating It's my reflection in my desk It's the alarm clock riding the horizon Once we spent our afternoons dancing in our living rooms Now shes giving into her most unlit corners too soon Love is a lifetime's wide and twisting tapestry And I'm reborn now without fear as before you ever met me You can end things with your boyfriend and I'll quit chasing you 'round But how long will the echo of the tell-tale penis sound? It's the creak in the floorboards It's throb is in my head It's the alarm clock riding the horizon It's the hand up through the dirt toward the sky after midnight Buried alive and left for dead |
