I see this as the complete opposite. It's just a description of perfect moment in time. The children are peaceful (I imagine they have the house to themselves, which is why they haven't eaten), Pnina is reading and Josh is playing chess with himself. They seem bright and happy, I don't see any hint of restrictions or punishment.
I just think this one is really lovely. And for some reason, I always picture Rachael and Zeke Kinski from Neighbours when I hear this song o___0 |

This song is about the certainties and claustrophobia of childhood. The central character is really just a spoilt little brat and thinks her parents are unreasonable for not buying her the latest toys or letting her throw big parties at night. This is what I gather from it at any rate. Love it :) |

What I've found for that line:
And I am (p r empty o and healing/inhaling)
And IMO and FTL in feeling (which means and In Memory of and for the Loss in Feeling?)
So... I haven't really helped at all :) Perhaps there will be an explanation in the song book. |

"or maybe we'll make up and buy a house and have a couple kids and labrador and microwave"
Wishful thinking.
I think the new version has this as "a dozen kids who'll run away but it doesn't matter anyway." I prefer the labrador I think :)
But yeah. Love is a contest, it seems. |

Oh. Oh my God. Amanda, I love you. Can you see the similarities between songs? Will? Coin-Operated Boy? She can't get close to anyone. I am exactly the same. |
