Wow this took me a while to figure out at first i was really stumped -_- think i finally got it Basically, it's a song of crying out for God to capture our whole self "Captivate all of me, all of me." "You look for a heart thats open, For beauty in the broken, So why am I withdrawn? My soul's screaming out, To be found in You." I guess most of us know already that we are supposed to have open hearts and let God in. Yet, we wonder why we're separating ourselves from God. My favorite part of this song has to be when he sings, "You look for... beauty in the broken." ... uh hope this helped... maybe not... i'm pretty bad at this interpreting stuff.. haha |

i don't agree 100% with Kittt but Kutless did say in an interview that they chose to use "Kutless" as their band name because Jesus took all our "cuts" for us leaving us "Kutless." anyways i agree with taskmaster we feel all this pain and we choose to get something (that will essentially "bring us around") or we can let the pain take over as and we can suffer even more "Right now you're bruised and bleeding I see the hurt within your eyes I know your pain is for a reason You need to feel just to know that you're alive " he sees that we're hurt but he allows it to happen so that we can strengthen our relationship with Him |

err i'm probably wrong but the first time i read the lyrics i thought about murder Out at the train tracks I dream of escape But a song comes onto my iPod And I realize it's getting late he murdered someone (perhaps his girlfriend) maybe at the train tracks? idk... **just pointing out: the song trains and the mentioning of train tracks in this song as well as in many other songs** I can't take the staring And the sympathy And I don't like the questions, "How do you feel? How's it going in school? Do you want to talk about it?" now he comes back home or something and he can't take the questions and the staring, making it feel like people are on to him And I'm trying to forget you And I know that I will In a thousand years Or maybe a week now he's trying to forget about the murder he committed And the curtains are closed And I've covered my tracks Disposed of the car getting rid of the evidence? well that was just a thought.. hehe.. >< |

Well i'm new to Third Day and this was one of the first songs i heard by them, and it's probably my favorite so far. Basically i think this song is being sung in God's perspective. "Well, I was there when you were torn apart Now a piece of you is gone Somehow you wish that you could only find A little strength to carry on You've tried so hard to make it on your own That your heart has come undone So I am here to prove that I alone Have the power to overcome" I remember hearing this sermon about why we suffer in life: so that we can get closer with God and see his glory. From the beginning, he was with us and saw how we tried to deal with our own problems in life. After we gave up, he took over to prove that he alone has the power to overcome. "I didn't want you to feel this way It's not what life was meant to be And so for you, my friend, I'll take your shame You can give it all to me" This part i guess can be a little cliche It's like Jesus is taking away your shame. "'Cause you've wrestled demons every day And they've dragged you to your knees But in your weakness you will learn to find That I will always be your strength" It's pretty much saying that during our weak times, we realize how powerful God can be, which is so true. The other parts i think are sorta self-explanatory... Hope i helped with the meaning of this song. There's like a whole message (enough for a sermon) in this song :) Very powerful |

Actually sounds very much like it's about God. Well from the verse i could tell right away. I looked up at the stars tonight, To see your face and to feel your presence now, I need you here right now, I came from a lonely place, Windows strewn in my darkest hour now, I need you here right now, I need you here, He's calling out to God for some sort of comfort/help Plus, "Broken Sunday." Sunday is when people go to church... Connection? Or maybe i'm totally wrong but to me this song is about God as well |

... 2 comments?? wow.. this is such a great song. me going through so many troubles and difficulties, feeling like my life is at its lowest of lows, this song makes you feel sooo much better. kutless sang it as if God were singing it to you and the best part is God IS singing it to u! i think this song is saying how God can see that we're all alone, and trying to show people that we're alright but he knows that we aren't and he's telling us that we don't have to "pretend to cope." all he's telling us to do is change perspectives and look towards the truth, and allow God to enter your heart :) hope that made sense O_O |
