To me; this song is about thinking if you have anything left, anything left to give. I think we all have this sort of feeling, and it's explained perfectly by this line: "I can't see the meaning of this life I'm leading I try to forget you as you forgot me This time there is nothing left for you to take, this is goodbye" Have you ever given someone a second chance, and then they fuck you over again, tear your heart back to shreds, and leave you right where you started? That line explains that. "Closer to ending it all.." It's contemplation, is it worth it to keep on keeping on? I think this song is just about weighing out your life, after a horrible loss, will anyone help you out, or will it be cut short? |

This song has got to be one of my favorites of all time. It's so down, but so meaningful. I agree, the title completely describes the song. It's the feeling, when you say goodbye to someone for the last time, or for a long time, all feelings you had of hope are gone, and how do you cope with stuff like that? There is a wound that's always bleeding - It always hurts, and there's nothing to be done about it, it can't be fixed. There is a road I'm always walking - It's always the same, the same path, the same thing, the same pain, always there. And I know you'll never return to this place - Do you need an explanation? Someone's gone, won't be coming back.. Hope Leaves. |
