I think this song is about finding 'the one' to early in life. Your happy to have your true love, and everything is great, but then you realize that your done.. no more looking or new experiences with other lovers. And eventually that could lead to self-sabotage "see What i've done, the bridge is on fire" its to much smooth sailing to fast, meeting the right one to early in life.. its something a lot of people can probably relate too, i love it, it is beautifully written, and the video is miraculous! But its sad and true how this can turn out in a broken hearts and confusion. |

I think this song is about the process of a passes away loved one. maybe not in order process. Like hes saying take these roses off of me, let me live and let me be. Like him finally moving on, taking the roses of the dead ones grave off his chest. I also think hes saying at parts that even though his loved one is gone he still sees that person everywhere, saying that they are loved and misses, and that that loved person is seeing him too. what is taking his pain away?! i get that the girl, symbolized by the twin boys, does not feel the same for the boy as he does for her, and he jumps through hoops for her while she does not care and ruins it like a kiss with opened eyes is always ruined. but what exacly is taking his pain away? i would feel pain but there is nothing that seems to be taking it away ? |
