Vanessa Carlton – Twilight Lyrics 17 years ago
My opinion on this song isn't completely different from the others but the feeling I always get from listening to it is more from a religious point of view.
I relate to the lyrics so much it's hard to believe.
The "you" she refers to in my eyes is God.
"I was stained with a roll in a day not my own" to me is like before you find God and you live for yourself.
"And as you walked into my life, you showed what needed to be shown" is God coming into her life and showing her the truth of the world.
"And I always knew what was right, I just didnt know that i might, peel away and choose to see with such a different sight". This is the line of the song that i can most relate to. Before you know God, the world blinds you but you still have morals. When you choose to live for God, you see the world with a different sight.
The chorus is about accepting God and seeing differently.
"Never cared, never wanted, never sought to see what flaunted" This is about being naive to the world around her. Something flaunted is meant to be seen but before God she was consumed with the material world.
"So on purpose, so in my face, couldn't see beyond my own place" Again she was blinded by the material world
"And it was so easy not to behold what i could hold
But you taught me, I could change whatever came within these shallow days" She took the easy way out before God showed her how strong she really is. She can make a difference in the world.
"As the sun shines through, it pushes away, and pushes ahead, Fills the warmth of blue
and leaves a chill instead" is her experience with knowing God and Him opening her eyes to the truth and being chilled by the truth.
"and i didn't know that I could be so blind to all that is so real. as illusion dies i see there is so much to be revealed." Again is about her being blind to the truth before she knew God and Him revealing the truth to her.
I don't know if anyone else got any of this from the song. But I see this song as the song of my faith. Every word makes so much sense to me and all relates to my voyage with christ.

The Hush Sound – Medicine Man Lyrics 17 years ago
i think this song is about a woman who meets a man who does drugs and he introduces her to drugs and she becomes dependent on them and him.
"Can't you see that I have no way out
From leaving now?"

The Hush Sound – Love You Much Better Lyrics 17 years ago
instead of "And while you kiss everybody but me,"

it's "why do you kiss everybody but me"
