if anyone in america actually read the bible instead of clinging to it blindly they would know that the son of man was jesus. "By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return." Gen. 3:19 -man's choice for, and God's curse, for agrarianism (it was so much better when people were chasing mammoths; & eating wild fruits nuts and berries) i like how this ties into evolution: "from dust you were made" doesn't that ruin the whole evolution vs. creationism debate? i mean evolution: life from lifeless nothing. creation: life from lifeless nothing. "Everyone will be salted with fire. Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with each other." Mark 9:49-50 "For the LORD your God is a consuming fire"Deut. 4:24 "This fire will consume as the flames purify" Killswitch that pretty much explains itself. i hope Jesse was actually being a disciple while he was in the band. Being a rocker is pretty self glorifying. I don't think thats what Jesus would do. |

This song is about being the traditional American rock band loser. "Pass the time kickin' as time rips by" -he is lazy, but he is kicking (not enjoying it) "Neither goose nor the gander fly" -no one/nothing else is doing anything either "Buy a minute spend an hour burnin', burnin'" -smoking lots of weed, he thinks it buys him time (good stoner logic) "Take a peek as the model earns it, earns it" -probly spends time looking at models/pornography but only if they "earn" it "Clean the politician, wash with everpure" -he kinda burys his problems/mistakes with everpure which is probably alcohol "So the answer gets harder, harder And the truth's getting farther and farther And the bottle keeps churnin' and churnin' Seven caged tigers fly" -he realizes his life is going in the wrong direction but changing his lifestle "the answer" is "harder" "Track the blade as it sweeps downward and onward" -probably either cutting himself or doing coke "Take a pill it'll kill at the martyrs, martyrs" -he is superstitious so he takes some pills "Pass the umbilical cord down for this fly by" -at this point he is dependent on drugs (his umbilical cord) So yeah thats pretty much it i think. Its a pretty pathetic life actually. But I still love the song. |
