yeah, i have to agree with ecyay, its about a dying friendship, not so sure about the boy/girl thing. i had an experience like this, my best friend and i were seeing less and less of each other, she doesn't go to my school or anything, and i listened to this song, i coulda swore this was written about me. jk, not really, but i related to it a lot. |

yeah, when i saw them they said it was aboutbeing away from friends and family, but i don't understand how the words relate to that?
the only part i can see that does relate is "i am gonna go for a run across countries i have begged to drive up. if it wasn't obvious enough you are invited to come." buuut that's about it. |

this song is pretty straight forward, its about misinterpreting (sp?) song lyrics.
i read in an interview that a few girls went up to matt and said thanks, and that they understood latch key because they were going through problems with their boyfriends, even though that song is about his father. and i've read the comments on that song, and people there are also misinterpreting the words.
i also read in an interview that they make it more ... "melodic" throughout the song so people start to pay attention to the words while they're singing them. like at first its really fast and upbeat but as it nears the end, its more catchy. |
