this is my favorite chevelle song but i personally did not get the music video. i mean i understood their interpretation but i had something totally different in mind. to me, this song is about a messed up relationship. maybe they liked each other in the beginning but now the guy starts to see all her flaws. he is sick and tired of her. the girlfriend thinks shes the perfect person, the perfect girlfriend for him and that she's always right. "it all makes sense, you're the perfect person" he starts to respond sarcastically to her. "so right...so WRONG!" she lives in her own world and is so close-minded and egotistical. "lets all live your imaginary life" "a fast and restless blackmail. a pent-up fetish force" this describes the girl. shes relentless, she will do anything to get her way and she lives off it. "Do you want enough? Do you want it all? Should you need it at all?" she wants everything and is not satisfied ever. after all this he is screaming at her "i get it! i get it! you're perfect!" but of course this is all exasperated sarcasm in his part. |

i can't get enough of the music video and the singer's voice and just the whole song! there's just something humorous about it all. i think the song is about a guy who is in a love/hate relationship with a girl. he can't get enough of her even though he knows she uses him and abuses him. he'll do anything for her even though she wears him out. at the end she has dumped him for someone else. and in some way he knows its best for him but he still wants her to "love [him] dead" |
