This song came out around the same time I lost my Christian faith. Which also happened to be the same time that I was studying life sciences in college. Hearing the song would bring tears to my eyes as it seemed to reflect the same sadness I felt with my battle for faith. I desperately wanted to believe in God in the way that I did when I was younger...when I was a Christain, but my rational and logical mind just brought so much doubt that it really interfered with my ability to believe. I'm no longer a believer, yet I want to believe, and I fell as if I'm running in circles...I've been trying to seek God through a more logical outlook on life, looking for evidence but it is so hard, and many days I'd wish I could back to the start (believer), because now Science and progress seem to speak louder. |
