So... I think my theory on the meaning of this song is a bit different than anyone elses, however, I just bought a live Muse DVD and this theory didn't pop out at me until I watched it. But once I did it really seemed to make a lot of sense to me. I think this song is about Muse's (or more or less Matt's) dedication to this musical world that is Muse and his fans. I think the word starlight could easily be a metaphor for "spotlight" And in the song where he says "I will be chasing a starlight, until the end of my life, I don't know if it's worth it anymore" I think this means: I will continue this musical way of life until I die or until it's not worth it anymore. "Hold you in my arms I just wanted to hold you in my arms" I think this means: A dedication to the love of his fans "My life, you electrify my life, let's consipre to ignite, all the souls that would die just to feel alive" He lives for his fans "I'll never let you go, if you promise not to fade away"- as long as there are fans out there, I will never stop playing for you. "Our hopes and expectations, Black Holes and Revelations"- Muse hopes that this cd "Black Holes and Revelations" is as good to you as it is to us. I don't know for sure, this just really stood out to me as a dedication to fans. |
