I get the feeling that the people saying that Frank Pollard was an friend of Randy's, with whom he has lost contact with. The fact of Pollard being a pastor or a preist i find to be highly unlikely due to seeing hatred for organised religion in some other of Lamb Of God's songs. However also on this album was Letter To The Unborn, so there is always the theory that Randy could've lost his faith after losting his daughter at birth. Either way, I think that the song is about Randy and Pollard being very pissed and possibly drug abuse in Frank's house and this song describes all the weird shit that went on. When he talks about the topside being much worse, he could be talking about upstairs, a lot of freaky stuff may have appeared to happen to the drunk Randy and Pollard because of the heating pipes or whatever in the attic above their heads making noises. Also when he says "infants painted gauze peer through murky jars" He may litterally be reffering to paintings that Pollard did as a result of his freakish dreams. This also maybe the root of theorys that this is a song about hate for organised religion, because of the "infants" this could mean the baby jesus, however, these two theorys could be the same, maybe Frank had really fucked up dreams about seeing or being in the presence of God and he saw people being hypnotised by religion ect. This could also link in the idea that there was drug abuse going on. Some drugs could be the cause of these strange dreams. Yes; I am over anaylitical Yes; Feel free to take the piss No; Don't come back to be being a bitch saying "dude you're totally wrong and a fucktard" this is MY interpritation of the song, don't like it then fuck off and close the door behind you. I think i'll be reading that book, it sounds good. But i personally think that it's about the book, although i have interpritated it as a "fuck it all, fuck your fear or you'll die" kinda song, i remember the first time i played a gig, i just blasted this on my MP3 for about half an hour straight, i got up there and tbh it's possibly the best i've played live (: So yhea, if you've not heard it LISTEN TO IT!! And if you don't like it, well you clearly have no concept of what 'blow-your-head-off-and-kick-your-ass' amazing is, because thats what Slayer are (especially live, Unholy Alliance 2008, i was there xD) |

"A shallow little jackal of a man posing as a hawk" I think that this is a reference to bush, and that he poses as a powerful figure head, but actually he's a coward, who sends troops into Iraq, and Afghanistan ect without a 2nd thought. "Lease the blade the gun the bomb in the name of justice. A violent panacea for what ails the nation" This means that bush will use anything he can, to get his way, and then say that it is justice, even if it is something that stops the progression and advancment of the country. "In advancement for the pig" and he does it all, just so that he can become wealthier, and in a higher state of power than before. "Retribution or vengeance it matters not which As long as the pig stays on top of the ladder of bone his father has built." This means that it doesnt matter if the reason for doing whatever it was (probably refers to war) that he was doing he'll do it, as long as he stays in the relativly high up and comforable place that his father made for him. and finally; "The pig ascends As I sink deeper" This means that as bush sends himself higher, into more power and comfort, the normal working men (and women for the politically correct people) of the country are pushed down into an even worse state than they where in before. As for people arguing about what it's like to be a soldier, yes soldiers are pawns of any goverment that has them, that is not an insult, it's a fact. Secondly, the people who are saying that soldiers are stupid and braindead, how ignorent are you? You can't treat a group of people as just that, within it there will always be individuals, and your standard infantary man has to have some level of intelligence, cos you have to have AT LEAST a level C in maths english and science, and thats your standard guy. After that you'll have chefs, feild doctors, mechanics, pilots, electricians, people with various computer skills, the list goes on. Yes soldiers are there for our protection, but isn't the reason for wars today the fact that some countries have weapons and armys?? (eg; IRAN!!) |

| OI! Motorhead fucking rule! infact so do metallica. I personally think they did a good job on this song, i mean Metallica can do the impressive soloing and all cos they've got Kirk Hammet whos actually a jazz/blues musician and knows how to properly solo, but Motorhead made this song a whole world heavier than Metallica ever could, i especially like Lemmy's vocals on this cover. | |

| The actual meaning is pretty clear, you dont need half a brain to work out that this song is a "fuck you". But even so i don't get this song, i've listened to this song so before you go and shout off "bet u've never heard it" i have, and actually their shit does come easy! if they think the production of their music is hard they should try being a jazz or heavy metal musician, that would fuck them up.
