| If you have followed John from day one, this song will make a lot of sense. He's done with running, hiding, he's finally realizing that he's gotta keep going with whatever emotion it is that he's feeling. I believe this song is about being in a relationship with someone with a mood disorder (bi-polar perhaps?). They live together and he is having a hard time dealing with her psychological problems- he wants to run but at the same time he wants to wait it out. He's sleeping a shoulder that he's never met because he doesn't know all sides of her. When he says, "You're tired of racing You're down and I said" I think he means she is coming down from a manic episode. In the end, again, he is contemplating running away from it all. If he sticks around, he will "freeze to death" from all the coldness around him and in the relationship. I love this song.. |
