I too have heard about this song being about Robert's regret or sadness over not having a son, but the question above this comment box is "what does this song mean to you?" And to me, from the first time I heard it, it remains a heartbreaking tale of unrequited love for...a friend, maybe? Interpreting the lyrics in this way, whilst at a Cure concert and hearing the song live, whilst next to such a friend was a powerful experience. I cannot wait for the new album. |
