Cursive – After the Movies Lyrics 17 years ago
cursive has some of the best lyrics of any band. kasher is a poet. i'd say cursive, mcr and the smashing pumpkins have the best written lyrics of any band.

anyways, i think this song is about a couple who loved each other for a while and wanted it to last forever, but the narrator's lover soon had less interest in him, and the narrator is wondering if its something he did wrong. he says he sorry ("I'm so sorry") and compares the fragile relationship to a wineglass. anything he did could of broken it.

My Chemical Romance – Drowning Lessons Lyrics 17 years ago
"Without a sound I took her down
and dressed in red and blue I squeezed
Imaginary wedding gown
That you can't wear in front of me"
i think its about someone who's lover lied to them, and so he kills her. but, it seems to take on a totally different tone here:
"And I'll keep on making more
Just to prove that I adore
Every inch of sanity
All I'm asking for is, all I'm asking for is..."
i have no idea what that means.
"From the times that I've killed you and then
We can wash down this engagement ring
With poison and kerosene
We'll laugh as we die
And we'll celebrate the end of things
With cheap champagne"
now this part sounds like joint suicide.
its kinda confusing. one of my fave MCR songs, next to "bury me in black", "honey this mirror...", and "our lady of sorrows". its even my screen name!

My Chemical Romance – Bury Me In Black Lyrics 17 years ago
i think its about gerard's addiction and alchoholim, back before he got sober. its also a bit incoherent at times, and i think that sorta supports that in some way.
PS, some of the lyrics r wrong.

The Smashing Pumpkins – The End Is the Beginning Is the End Lyrics 17 years ago
well, billy confirmed its about batman. i think its about batman doing what he does and wanting to be able to eventually stop, but he knows he cant. he doesn't want to be batman forever (no pun intended), but he knows he most likely will. also, i think its about nobody understanding batman except for one person, the person he loves. to me, it seems like he just gets batman, which is weird cuz i doubt he's remotely interested in batman comics (like me. i love them). and, he couldn't of captured the essence of batman like that by watching "Batman & Robin". that was a crappy movie that made batman a laughing stock once again right when he got back on his feet when tim burton redeemed him from the campy 60s stuff. the song reminds me of "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm", one of the best batman movies ever, even tho its a cartoon. it also kinda reminds me of Batman Begins and what i've heard of the upcoming The Dark Knight film, but those, of course, weren't made yet.

anyways, billy said it has to do with batman being insane, and having to be as demented and crazy as the villains he catches in order to go out at night and dress up like a bat.

i think its about a guy so in love with a person he finds bliss with her no matter whats happening. he doesn't have a care in the whole world. to me, "As far as you take me, that's where I believe" means that anywhere his love takes him, he's still happy. i think "with gods and their creations, with filth and disease" refers to the bad things and suffering that may be happening but he doesn't care cuz he has his love. "the realm of soft delusions, floating on the leaves" means that he's a bit delusional and thinks his love is perfect no matter what.

The Smashing Pumpkins – Stand Inside Your Love Lyrics 17 years ago
billy said its the only actual love song he's ever written. personally, i think it's just that, a love song about a guy telling someone they love them, but, even so, i find something about it sorta obsessive. i don't think that was done intentionally, tho.
