Snow Patrol – Reading Heaney to Me Lyrics 16 years ago
This is such a beautiful song. It's now one of my favourites. I think it's just about finding pure escape with the one you love. Personally, I think it's quite self explanotary. As for Heaney, he is an awesome writer. Thanks for posting these lyrics.
I think my verse in the song is "Your hand on my forehead is the softest vice..."
I love it.

Snow Patrol – The Afterlife Lyrics 17 years ago
Awesome Song. One of their best I would say. I think the song is about life after pain, and also what suede67 said, learning from mistakes. Gary has said that he has been through a lot with a certain girl, hurt and things like that, but I think this song is almost like Gary has moved on from that e.g. when he says "this is fun, this is fun, it's the most fun I remember. It's the fight, it's the fight that we are winning...' (In real life Gary is now dating Lisa Hannigan) so that could explain a lot itself.
The song is afterall named 'The Afterlife' and even that alone speaks volumes. Is Gary referring to the afterlife of pain? I'm guessing he is. Being in a new life of some sort. Some of these lyrics sound slightly happier than a lot of other stuff he has done. This is just my guess.

Editors – All Sparks Lyrics 17 years ago
Please, if any of you haven't heard the song 'Some kind of spark' this tune is a must. Just don't get it mixed up with the song 'all sparks' though. These two songs are totally different. We need some comments on the song 'Some kind of spark'. It's a great song. You can listen to it on youtube. That is really for now the only place I know to get it. It's just a different tune from any of their others. You have to experience it.

Editors – Heads In Bags Lyrics 17 years ago
Just my guess, but I think this may be to do with the law. About boundries we can't cross, things we can't do to displease the country leaders, the rules - 'Don't walk on there, the grass is new'. Even though we may sometimes not like the government, or even the people leading it, still, because we are a part of the nation, no matter what, to a certain extent we have to do what they say -
'and you can win'
'you can win me over again'
Maybe he is saying that no matter what, the government will always win in the end, and becuase the singer (we) are a part of the nation, they win us over, becuase whether we like it or not, we are in their hands. A great song by the way, love it when he says '...ME OVER' and the tune changes slightly. This is all just my guess. It's not certain.

Gosh, no comments. Well, I guess I'm honoured to be the first one to write in for such a great song. Lovely drum beat in the verses.

Basement Jaxx – Romeo Lyrics 17 years ago
This is one of my favourite songs ever. Such a summer feel Good. It makes you think so much of the one you love. Also, when the lyric says 'your only acting like a yo yo,' that is actually wrong. It is 'Your neurotic like a yo yo.' :) They really need to make more songs like this.

Editors – Fingers In The Factories Lyrics 17 years ago
The other day I was watching 'Schindlers List' and this song just popped into my head. You know, the supressed FACTORY WORKERS. If you've seen this film, you'll know what I mean. You could sum this whole song up in the Schindlers List film. If you watch it and think of this song, a part of you may even think that they wrote this song cause of that film ( not that i think editors wrote this song cause of Schindlers List) but a part of you cannot help to think that. Afterall, the song Munich has somewhat a similar theme. Munich was written about 'Black September' about the athletes that were held hostage and murdered in 1972. (It's funny, Steven Spielberg both directed Munich and Schindlers List...)

Editors – Colours Lyrics 17 years ago
Probably my favourite Editors song, literally. The words, the atmosphere it brings. The simplicity of it. If you've ever deeply loved someone, you'll know what I mean. The song also makes you think of the importance and the value of life. What an incredible feeling this song gives me.

Snow Patrol – Little Hide Lyrics 17 years ago
Well, the title LITTLE HIDE i think says it all. From most of Gary's songs you can tell that he is trying so deeply to get through to a girl. It's the same with this. 'stares that i hold far too long, of course i know that it is wrong, but deep down inside i know you like it.' My personal opinion, i think Gary likes a girl that doesn't like him, or she is being in denial about her feelings for him as it says, 'but deep down inside i know u like it.' Love is a deep thing, so maybe Gary isn't overly romantic, perhaps he has just deeply fell in love. Because Gary loves the girl so much and she doesn't show the same feelings back, the only way for him to escape or numb the pain is to create a LITTLE HIDE for himself, which i think we could say we all have. 'I cant wait to get to bed, not so i can rest my head it means i can dream of you more in my little hide.'

Gary is in a way saying that his bed is his little world of escape with his dreams etc... thinking logically, when someone doesn't like us back in a romantic way, even subconcsiously we start to create a world of escape, a little hide where we pretend they like us cause of the rejection and pain we feel.

Keane – Is It Any Wonder? Lyrics 17 years ago
Hi. I'm not sure if someone has already said this. I've looked at most but not every comment seen as there is so much. This song is actually, funny enough about the Iraq war and the bands feelings about it. e.g. what are they supposed to belive and things. Yeah, it's true, i saw it on wikepedia, and if u think that's wierd, i also read Tim Rice say the exact same thing in an interview.
At first i thought it was to do with a relationship, and most people did, but really how can it be? Talks about 'Living In The Kingsdom Of The Good And True' what does that have to do with a relationship. Hearing the song over and over again these days, now, it sounds nothing like it has anything to do with a relationship. Finally, my eyes have been opened.
