Personally, I've always thought this song was more about Jecht than Tidus. The lyrics seem to reflect what ultimately happened to him after crossing over into Spira's future, and how is only hope for release from Sin is combat (more specifically, combat with his son). |

"Faith" is a concept album centered around Hyde's exploration of Christianity. From what I can tell, each song describes a different emotional state that a Christian goes through in relationship with God. Whereas Season's Call is about the joy and love of worship, this song is quite the opposite; it is about the anguish and grief of loss, with the believer pleading for God's help.
Hyde has an interesting relationship with religion in general. For the most part, he seems to clearly not be Christian or even theist, but at the same time, he's always had a certain fascination with religion. I don't think "Faith" necessarily describes his personal opinion on Christianity; rather, it is an expression of his attempt to understand the beliefs and mindset of Christians as a whole. |

This song is from the album "Faith," which is a concept album describing various aspects and impressions of Hyde's exploration of the Christian faith (he's not Christian, as far as I know, but he seems to have a certain fascination with it). With that in mind, this song takes on certain spiritual connotations, in my mind; I would say it describes a worshipper's faith in and love of God. |
