| I think yall think too much. I think some of these hardcore fans are right. I think they just see some shit happen and they're like, omg, that would make a great song. And the rest is up to interpretation from the fans. I'm sure SOME of their songs have meanings to them. But before you start rambling on about how EVERY FUCKING SONG is about Jesus or the gov't. Think about who wrote it. DO you really think they're sitting around making up these lyrics for this particular meaning? most bands, i find, just see something happening and write a story about it. Short and sweet. Or some bands just wanna write really deep lyrics about simple things. Deftones has a song called Passenger and its literally about him in the passenger seat of the car at night with his friends and he has the window down. Simple. Try listening to that song at night with the windows down with your friends and maybe you'll understand the song better. As there ARE plenty of songs with deep or hidden meanings, I find that most songs are much simpler than people interpret them to be. | |

If you know this story, its definitely a love story. A couple; one a loyal subject to the Pharoah of Egypt, and one a princess who's been captured as a slave in Egypt. They're countries are at war because of this. I've never seen this musical, but I know that much. They can never see each other during the day, and their nights are "rushed". The prince has to choose between being loyal to the Pharoah or being with "Aida". And she has to choose between her father, whom she loves and is fighting for her, or "Radames". Its a beautiful story. Especially with it being interracial on stage. Radames: We all lead such elaborate lives wild ambitions in our sights (We all have dreams and complicated lives without love in the first place) How an affair of the heart survives days apart and hurried nights Seems quite unbelievable to me (It's amazing how the heart can survive through our already complicated lives, especially when you don't see that person as much as you want or can) I don't want to live like that seems quite unbelievable to me I don't want to love like that I just want our time to be slower and gentler, wiser,free (This is pretty obvious. He wants to be with her freely without hiding and living this complicated life with all these lies.) We all live in extravagant times playing games we can't all win (We all live life and don't always necessarily get what we want.) And to tell you the truth, I don't know how this story ends.... lol. I'm gonna google RIGHT now.) This song means SO MUCH to me. I'm in a interracial long-distance relationship and people think we're too young and too unwise to truly love each other. But both of us are a lot wiser than our friends and people our age. And he has his friends and family in California and he lives with and takes care of his grandfather there. And he's trying hard to get a job just so he can fly me over there. And I'm just stuck living with my mom, and we're really broke. So I'm just trying to get the money to keep us afloat. But I'm secretly stashing a little bit at a time if we get money, to hopefully save up for a life with him. I could be homeless, as long as I'm with him. We both live, such elaborate lives, playing games we can't always win. But I could wait forever, for the perfect time and place. Me and him have one of those really deep "love story" loves. And we both know life tugs us apart and its almost practically impossible to be with each other, but we're both willing to wait for the time when we get to spend forever with each other. We've been together 3 years. We met online. And a year and a half into our relationship, his grandfather bought him a ticket and he took me to my prom. We got to be together for four days. And then another year and a half went by, and in September he got to celebrate my birthday with me and he was here for two weeks total. And he got to stay at my house so we were constantly with each other. And his eyes are just so deep that I can't stare into them for long enough, cause I'm pretty sure I'll either melt or drown. And yes. Thats corny. But so is every love story. It doesnt keep you from crying though does it...? |
