i like both versions. i absolutely love this song. i think they both have the same general meaning. he loves someone and wants to know if they see him in their future (i want to know your plans and how involved in them i am). but it seems like this one is a little more specific. the person he loves is going away in the fall, maybe off to college or something? (when you leave for good this fall will i be forgiven) and he doesn't know if it will last or if they'll forget him once they go away (i want to know your fears and if you'll forget me next year/when the jets go up and out will our hearts stay here). i completely relate to this version. cause i'm in that whole person-you-love-is-going-away-to-college-soon situation. so i guess that's why i like it a little more. |
