| I think this song is about betrayel. I always think of someone who was raped by someone they thought they loved. | |
| The Dresden Dolls – The Perfect Fit Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song kind of reminds me of a more seriouse version of Anne of Green Gables. Some lines especially, like 'I could clothe a continent, but I can't sew a stitch' reffering to her imagination, and how it seems so real to her. Also, 'I can't change my name' makes me think of that whole 'Cordelia' thing. It also makes me think of how she sometimes said the only thing she couldn't change with imagination was herself. The part 'Hello, I'm good for nothing, will you love me just the same?' To me is about her wanting to be more useful, bt she hopes Marilla and Matthew will love her despite her flaws. | |

Sorry I keep adding stuff, but this is the last time. I promise ^_^ The parts about fitting into the slipper could also mean how she was trying to obey her Polonius and Laertes while still being with Hamlet. So, she was trying to make everyone happy. |

I hit 'add comment' and I wasn't finished...anyway: "How many princes will it take to put a girl like this back together again" Is like she's saying it'll take a lot more than Hamlet to make her better again. "How many instances can you point out where i was less than kind" Reminds me of the conversation they had were he asked her 'Are you honest? Are you fair?' "How many happy endings do you need to change your fucking mind" Could be her asking how many times people need revenge before their happy. "and how much time do we have left before it's midnight and you see that i was never the right size?" Makes me think that she's wondering what people will think of her when she commits suicide. All the gore, especially the part about a gory story, could be about her seeing all this violence going on in Denmark, and she just has to watch it. Also, about how the only attention she gets from Hamlet now is usually hateful. |

This kind of reminds me of Ophelia, after Hamlet killed Polonius: "How many stitches do you think it takes to fix a cut that bad" referring either to Hamlet cutting her father and killing him, or referring to fixing her madness. "How many minutes until midnight and you get your eyesight back" Could mean her waiting for her death, so she could go to heaven and have her common sense again (or something). "Other girls shower but I give out flowers" reminds me of Ophelia for obvious reasons. |

I think it's pretty clear that this is about the ending of Wuthering Heights. I'm surprised I understood this book, since I'm barely out of middle school. It might be because I've heard a lot about it before, though. I could read this book a thousand times and still not be sick of it. |

| Emilie Autumn – What If Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I heard this song and related thought of school. I think it's about a student who's quiet, and not as social as people would like. Teachers think their stupid, and students call them a loser, even though these people don't even know things as shallow as this persons interests. To me it's about someone accepting they will never be the same as their classmates and teachers, and they'll probably always be judged, so the best thing to do is act like themselves and stop trying to fit in. It's too bad if others can't deal with that, it's their loss. | |

I think this about someone who was loved (like a celebrity) that commits suicide. Three hundred and six In only six years If it was an accident Where are the tears? (To me, this is about how there are so many celebrity's that people say they feel sorry for when this happens, but they don't really care. People say how sad it is, but they wouldn't really cry for a dead celebrity.) I am still unidentified Behind the cathedral Is where my body hides But I'm not inside (This is saying how she's just another gravestone, and now everyone overlooks her. Then it's saying that her body is still there, but nobody cares about it anymore.) Just one of sixteen In early one day If it was a game Why couldn't I play? (This part is about how she was just someone for people to laugh at. People treated her life like a game, and she couldn't see what was so funny.) I am the abandoner But still I remain (She's dead, but people are still talking about her.) And my frozen pulse quickens As the black plot thickens (People are starting to say worse things about her than they had when she was alive.) Like the story I heard A lifetime ago Where a girl (and this is funny) Took her life (This is about how she had heard stories of famous people killing themselves before, and she had always laughed at their problems before it happened to her.) And what she doesn't know Is how long it takes for the water to rise And the breath to stop fighting And the cold to close her eyes (She had been hesitant about killing herself.) Morality plays On stages of sin The easy way out Or the easy way in (She had put on a show for people, making her life and herself look almost perfect. She sees suicide as her only way to escape. She feels it has to end that way, no matter which way you look at it.) I am still overglorified My reasons to live Were my reasons to die But at least they were mine (People are still making her sound like a much better person than she actually was. At first she thought the only thing she wanted was fame, but now she's killing herself to escape it. She feels like her fame is all she has left, since her private life has been taken away.) Now I'm freedom unbound Cut the laces of life The pistol The poison The noose Or the knife (She's glad she has the freedom to chose whether she lives or dies. She's thinking of ways to kill herself.) I have chosen my instrument And said no goodbyes (She can't trust anyone, and has no one to say goodbye to.) |
