I would also like to add that "Damn your eyes" implies to me that Sam thinks the crowd is as guilty as he is...they are killing him, just like he killed someone. I personally think it is wrong to kill someone for killing someone to show the rest of society that killing is wrong. :-) |

I agree with wisewhiz. It's about an unrepententant murderer named Sam Hall. He got caught, convicted, and his sentence is to hang. He wants the world to know that he doesen't give a crap about what he did and he will see them all in Hell. There is an uplifting, defiant sense of carefreeness (hey I just made up a word :-) ) about his crime and end. |
