i listen to this song just about every morning on my way to school. it's so amazing, like all of Frusciante's work. as far as the lyrics, there everyone interperts it differntly this is what i was able to get out of it: "I don't try as much to feel anything these days" -he's been disappointed about something in the past, so to try and prevent it from happening again, he doesn't try to get as emotionally involved in things. "Goals disrupt the past" -looking forward to things and dreaming can help to forget about bad things in the past. "There’s nothing i’m for or opposed to There’s nothing im really supposed to do" and "Life doesn’t come to me now And I wouldn’t want it to There’s nothing I'd like to do" -he's indifferent about many things in life. as for the rest of the song, i agree with seren. i could be completely wrong about the meaning, but that's the beauty of frusciante's work. it can mean so many different things to so many different people. |
