Right, well if they're so unexplainable, why did In Flames use the same clip on their song "F(r)iend" in 2004? There's obviously SOME explination to it, and because of the In Flames song and hearing it again on this song, I REALLY want to know just what the hell the lady and the man say. |

...Seriously? Nobody's commented on the offical lyric print from the PDF? Okay, so apparently With Teeth didn't come with a booklet and instead a .pdf lyrics poster was released in it's place at www.nin.com/with_teeth . That doesn't mean it's not about a drug addiction though. Actually, I would say this song is about any addiction in general, including relationships. This ex I had was wonderful, and made me feel like I was on top of the world. Eventually I noticed things didn't seem to add up-- There was something.. odd.. about her. As great as I was to her, her attention was divided between three guys.. And when she finally figured out I was the best out of the three, she tried to hold on "with teeth", if you will. She attempted to make me feel guilty for leaving her behind. The last line says it best. She is the greatest lie of all. |

"Let the colour persuade the hate that you fear." ...What does Anders mean by this? I've been struggling to figure this out for a long time now. It seems like the answer could be simple, but I have reason to believe it's hidden.. Somewhat cryptic lyric anyway. One of my thoughts is: let the colour (the crimson red colour of blood; his pain) persuade the hate that you (the significant other) fear (persuade a fear thought of hatred or lack of concern away-- one that makes the significant other think that Anders doesnt care about them) Am I on track here? What are other people's opinions? I don't care if they're wrong or right, but i'm hoping there's more than what I'm seeing. |
