Manic Street Preachers – P.C.P. Lyrics 17 years ago
The line '227 Lears, and I can't remember the first line' is a quote from a film in the 80's called the dresser about an actor in the 40's who struggles to continue to act shakespeare in his theater group because of the London Blitz, the story kinda runs parallel to that of Shakepeare version of King Lear (it even has a 'fool').

The idea of the quote is in response to many people saying Shakespeare was not politically correct in the 80's and 90's therefore some of his plays should be altered to be more correct. This therefore would render the original plays (or to widen it out, pieces of art around the world) impotent. This ties in to the songs idea that political correctness while good, can be in many ways wrong, such as the idea as stated before that people are correct simply because the state says they have to be, but they wont be behind their backs, we're all guilty of it. However it also says that political correctness can go to far, like if a persons ethnic origin, culture and identity are disregarded and lost due to the country trying to hard to equalise people. It's a catch 22 :S

Fishbone – Servitude Lyrics 17 years ago
noones commented this song?! WHAT!!!!!!

The heavy fishbone is the best, they're great, can pull of totally different styles.

Anyhow the song is about the average fella letting himself be pushed around by people 'higher' than him/her. Pretty obvious really, plus the nme is servitude. It simply questions peoples morals, in particularly those in the army.

Great lines in this song: like 'Will you die or continue to kill?' and 'Does God love hard cold cash?' I love the way it's questioning the soldier in question too :)

Limp Bizkit – Boiler Lyrics 17 years ago
Wow everyone hates Limp Bizkit. Ahh well I didn't like em a few years ago when I was all like 'sell outs' 'There not real hardcore' 'I'm too hard and musically well good for these kinda bands' however I changed all that and decided the best way to go is to listen to all music, genres bands and that shit, so I did, and now there a very few groupd and singers I dislike and even those I at least appreciate. Plus no band purposefully sell out, they just may write a good album that sells alot, good on em.

So yeah, good Song. Three Dollar bill, y'alls the best album tho

Kasabian – L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever) Lyrics 17 years ago
For some reason I kinda always thought this song had a strong political stance, or too be specific the Berlin wall/East Germany during the Cold War.

Examples: 'Step on it, Electronic' The death strip were people ran to get to the wall, there were electronic trip wires that set off flares to spot escapies so they could be easily 'stopped'
The obvious ones are 'we got are backs to the wall' and 'your gonna kill us all'...Also the title 'Lost souls forever' could refer to the idea of skilled workers going to no use in the communist society they lived in were they could have prospered in the western secotrs, therefore they are lost souls. I also thought 'Messiah for the animals' may have been him putting himself in the position of someone planning an escape with others, ie. they're 'animals' trapped in Berlin.

Admittedly the second verse doesn't really fit into the whole of my idea and sways more towards the whole music is a drug thing, so perhaps it's abit of both? Anyhow thats just my view, take it or leave it :D

Metallica – Ronnie Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this is one of their best songs...

However I can tell why alot of people don't like, especially considering there's a big hate of Metallica by 'true fans' since after the Black Album. personally Load and Reload are my favourite all round metallica albums. :)

Manic Street Preachers – Comfort Comes Lyrics 17 years ago
Excellent song. Suprised noone else has commented.

To me this song is another of Richeys powerful insights on human habit and unconscious beliefs.
For exmple, 'The difference between love and comfort, is that comfort's more reliable and true' This shows he sees love more as a need to be acknowledged by others, ie. the comfort others bring, love is more an unknown emotion that creates pain, it is of course, only the good things (comfort of being loved and loving) that we want in a relationship, not the lies and pain.

The song itself does seem like a personal cry for attention from Richeys point as well (I'm not sure if Richey wrote this exclusively, if not then I apologise)
