this song means that dont just sit around and procrastinate get out and do something with your life, brandon is all about autonomy and getting out of your house and experiencing the world, a certain shade of green is obviously a stop light, ( green light, red light, yellow light) i forgot what they are called, and 2012 is when the mayans predicted the world to end. sorry if i scare anyone aha |

its obviously about some descion that he made, the bed sheets shade the heat of choices, hes ashamed of whatever choice he made, which was to go on tour leaving carolyn murphy behind instead of staying and continuing on a family with her, she ended up cheating on him and now he probably is regretting not staying with her, "forgive my indescion" which i think he was struggling between staying and leaving "indecisiveness" i am only a man, meaning he probably didnt expect her to be so heart broken from it, everyone makes mistakes. "cause now your not here and im knee deep in that old fear" which means carolyn isnt around anymore and the fear of him ever loosing her he is knee deep in, slowly drowning him, idk if i make sense but it makes perfect sense in my head lol |
