"although the album is supposed to be about the patient, i honestly don't think this song has anything to do with that character." I've been thinking something like that lately too. I think it's about him, the popularity and his fans... Like some people are thinking that children (referring to his fans) are suffering, and their savior is walking away and doesn't care (referring to Gerard). They also think that he's some kind of madman and polluted, wrong kind of example to them. Then he kind of agrees, that he doesn't deserve the sympathy, and still they're crying and breathing only for him... So he requests to kiss him goodbye and carry on, although it's hard to let go of dreams. I don't know, could it just be a respond for all the publicity and idolizing he has got... Anyway I hope you got my point. |
