Iron Maiden – The Fallen Angel Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is not about the Brave New World book or the Apocrypha story. It's based on the biblical Azazel(Satan). Not the fallen Cherubim mentioned in the Apocrypha. A bit of history before I say why. First of all a Cherubim is a higher order of being when compared to an Archangel, which Lucifer was. They are never reffered to as some kind of angel. In Revelations they are called beings or creatures around the throne of God. An honor that not even an Archangel has. There is no such mention of a Cherubim falling in to sin in the bible. Nor was there another Archangel cast from heaven. Since Lucifer was the most powerful (and the mad one behind this doomed plan) angel that was cast from heaven. He is the ruler of the demons.

Now in the biblical book of Leviticus. God commanded Aaron to sacrifice one goat to him for redemption of the sins of the children of Israel. Aaron was to lay his hand on a second goat's head and confess all the sins of Israel. Then it was sent in to the desert for Azazel. Which is why in the pentagram, you see a goat head representing Satan/Azazel/Baphomet/etc.

Now that I've established that Satan and Azazel are the same. I will tell why the song is not based on the Azazel from the fictional Apocrypha. Simply because the fallen ANGEL in the song waits for Armaggedon. Not the other "end of the world" that was caused by the Noah's ark flood story.
Where the Grigory were destroyed.

I can see how some of you could say that the song reffers to the Apocrypha or the Brave New World story. But that is just a deception by the band in order to accept this as prolific depiction of those two events.
