"Don't it smell so sweet? In DECATUR, where they pack that heat" I'm from Springfield, IL so I'm not too sure, but one of my friends says Decatur smells like shit because of some factory of some sort. Is this a reference to that? |

i think this song is about the first year after high school. i was in a band all throughout high school and if by the time i graduated we hit it big, the first part of this song makes perfect sense. "i never thought i'd see the day that we honestly could say we stand five against the world" this is them finally gettin out and gettin a record label interested in them "and the doors are open through all those years" there always telling you doors are open and you can do whatever you want "i would've died to be right here" this is what they've wanted all throughout high school "i never thought of backing down with one chance to make a sound" they're not gunna stop, they finally got a chance to be heard and live the dream. basically the rest follows the same suit, they're gunna always remember this giant chunk of life of touring and being in a band and making a shit load of money |
