this song is amazing, sad, and pathetic all at the same time. i love it. this guy is clearly head over heels for a girl who doesn't even know he exists or if she does she doesn't really seem him for who he is. He would do anything for her (he would even change himself) and she doesn't even care. I think this song is about a guy who is love with a girl who has trust issues. (I'm sure you've been misled before And once you'd trust they'd slam the door) She clearly has trust issues...people in her past have hurt her. (Why aren't things wild? She wants to be a free spirit and enjoy being young but because of her past she is afraid. He is trying to tell her that she is strong and not to question herself. I think in some aspects its about getting high but also the fear that some people experience when starting a new relationship. Some of us have been burned in the past and are afraid to open ourselves up to other people and the 'getting high' part of the song could be a symbol of just running away from this person or trying to ignore your feelings. "I felt too much I did not have the strength I just ran to get high " Meaning you feel so much for this person but it is too hard to deal with so you run away. |
