This song just screamed Catcher in the Rye to me. Losing your friends, walking around the city late at night pissed off at lights (citibank, broadway) because they remind you of the phony, unmagnificent world of adults. It even uses the same falling imagery of growing up that Salinger uses. "An uninnocent FALL into adulthood." Even the showered and blue blazered lines remind me of Holden's "sexy phase" when he would go out on the town looking for girls and come back with nothing but a prostitute he refused to sleep with. Great song. The feathery woman i agree is an angel, since they're mentioned in the chorus. However, I can't figure out why the man is blindfolded or even who or what he is supposed to represent. Need some help on that part. |

Great pickmeup song. My favorite line is probably the one that has the least to do with the theme of the song. "The things that we're afraid of are gonna show us what we're made of in the end." Just a great line about what really defines a person. With that - Goodbye. |
