The first verse is him recognizing a fimiliar place he spent time with someone but it is just not the same anymore and makes Chris think back to those days. The "seems so quiet" part, is along the same lines of him going back to this place that looks the same but thats totally changed. The 2nd verse is him talking about the older times and how great is used to be. I know for a fact that Howling Wolf is a band that he was really into. The rest of the song or the peak of it "Thought you'd save me...with love" is him saying how he's been hurt or let down and now feels alone and will never escape that feeling. This song has a beautifully tradgic overtone to it and it almost sounds like a sad lullaby to me. I think this is one of Chris Conleys best written song. There seems to be alot of truth and emotion put into it and the music that compliments it is amazing. Viciousadvent : I agree with you. I think we both like the more melodic side to STD. I had a chance to see them a few weeks back and they played a bunch of stuff from In Reverie. |
