"won't be haunted by dreams i've deferred" -i think it kinda refers to the langston hughes poem 'raisin in the sun' where he asked the question "what happens to a dream deferred?" -shes just saying that she won't let what she wanted the relationship to be constantly be a reminder of how the relationship really went and will not allow the memory of it to constantly nag at her |
