I think it's safe to say that the "buried alive" phrase is both literal and metaphorical...I think HelenaTroy had a particularly adept analysis. In any case, the lyrics can be interpreted a million different ways; while it's true the music alone is jaw-droppingly powerful, the lyrics are the touch (or I should say, slap, because they're not exactly gentle but hugely impacting in their own way...meh I'm getting ahead of myself here) that...I don't know, makes your jaw fall all the way off onto the floor. Brilliant, timeless song. |
