Definitely not the only interpretation, but this could be about gamedev. Kid is happy playing video games and wonders how they're made, then much later he gets his big chance to join a game studio, where he learns "how sausage is made" and as the crunch time work consumes his life he grows to resent his craft and warns others to avoid the same fate. |

About the internet, everything being connected and the loss of privacy. What is cool that when this song was first released I thought of the lyrics as childish, but it has actually become more relevant as time has passed, as we're now more reliant on technology and networks than at the time of Ecliptica's release, and also considering the recent disclosures about NSA surveillance and such. |

This song makes me think of a character like William "D-Fens" Foster from the movie Falling Down. A dedicated man who did everything right according to his own beliefs, but was still ejected from his own family, while his ex got together with another ("now it's invaded by a stranger.") The narrator is seeking to claim back his former life, which only exists in his imagination by now, and it will not end well for anyone involved. |
