Nirvana – Oh, Me Lyrics 17 years ago
Hi,
I have a completely different interpretation of this song that I must share with you.
I strongly believe this song is about self-absorption and I actually believe his lyrics are sarcastic towards himself.
i think the last verse is about him being sarcastic that he has infinitiy within him.
My interpretation stems from a consumer culture context of individualism and self-fulfillment and self-idealization.
I know this is totally different from all the interpretations that have come before me.
But despite this negativity I actually love this song because for me this is an honest look at himself (through sarcasm) anyway I always go overboard in my interpretations. One can say the interpretation reflects more about the interpreter than the song itself.

Chantal Kreviazuk – Wayne Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is so powerful and so unique.
I especially like it because, in my interpretation, it is NOT about a romantic relationship. It is about a young girl's complicated relationship with a father figure type person who is both good and bad. He is good because he takes her up in a hot air balloon - treats her. And he is bad because he drinks (his car smells like beer) and he has a questionable female friend who pretends to be her mother - implies lots of relationships with women, etc..
The girl and 'Wayne' this father figure person, are on a car trip and the car crashes. Wayne dies and the young girl survives and now she must figure out what to do to save herself.
The song is about reliving this experience and her complicated relationship with this man in life and through death.

I get really annoyed when people put a sexual connotation to absolutely every thing in music videos.
To me the song is far from being about that, and it is just as powerful of a song....

Its one of my favorites!!
