time is like a wave, because there is nothing you can do to stop it. he feels times punishes him because it eats away his life. it strips him bare and leaves him with nothing. he cant keep up, because every time he captures the moment, the next has already started. this really is a good song... it pretty much sums up all of my thoughts on time. if you think of time in the this way, it really does make you feel like you are out of your mind. it's one of the few things that actually makes me sad. this song is soooo amazing.. i know its about crystal meth, but either way, it is relateable if you think about it... instead of crystal meth you could think of it as something, anything, that is bad for you but makes you feel alive. he doesnt want to stop, because he loves it so much. he doesnt even wanna go back in time and change his actions, because he knows life without it doesnt even come close to comparing. but yet at the same time he knows what he's doing is in reality hurting him, but he cant stop. and he wont. i am deff not a crystal meth user, but i can relate to this song. |

amazing song.. i think its about feeling like you dont know what you want... clearly about another person. i think its saying that he wants her, but he doesnt understand why, since shes no good for him. theres sometihng "deep inside of her" that makes him want her. if he could though, he would change the fact that he needs her. my favorite part is "i breathe by your looks but you look right through me".. this means that he looks forward to seeing her and almost lives by her presence, while she, on the other hand, doesnt need him at all and "looks right through him". great song. and if you know what its like to not know what you want and to feel confused and overwehlemed by a person, then you can most likely relate to this song. |

i love this song. but i dont really agree with all of these descriptions... i think its morly about how she was in the "in" crowd, but then something went wrong (maybe she got into a fight with her good friends), and so now she feels like she's on the outside for once. "I've never been on the outside." this proves that she once was apart of it all. "I can still see you, this ain't the best view, on the outside, looking in," same with this... I think this song means more then pretended to be happy when you're sad. I think it's about faking who you are. It's about acting a certain way around people, and another way around other people, just so they're happy with who you are and so they like you. and the whole "this is one time you can't fake it hard enough to please" just means that this one time, you can't fake who you are good enough to please people. "the refuge you have built to flee, is the place that you have come to fear the most" this seems to be something that you have spent so much time and so much effort to build and to make strong to comfort you, and it broke and no longer helps you. I see a friendship that didn't work out. Becuase maybe you tried so hard to make it great, but now you're just scared of your friend... for a lot of reasons... |
