| Whitechapel – Father Of Lies Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
it's a challenge to god FROM satan. Satan is the Father of lies. he lies to you; says he will do things for you, and in return you must give him your soul. he acts as your friend, and deceives you in the end. As punishment for dealing with the devil, you go to hell. and in this case, it's probably a song about satan getting back at god, for sending him into the depths of hell to become the devil, for Lucifer himself is originally an angle: the first angle damned to the depths of hell, making him the supreme ruler of lies, temptation, and evil. |

| Trivium – Master of Puppets (Metallica cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
quit slaming on Trivium. If anything, they are honoring Metallica by playing one of their best songs, and doing a damn good job at it too. And quit compiaring two different bands. If people hate trivium so much, then why the hell do they keep coming back to their songs and post crap? And for anyone who really wants to know, this song is the same as Metallica made it. It's about drug addiction. |

| Alice in Chains – Man In The Box Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I doubt it's about animal abuse, because that's way too literal for them. And if it was about religion, then it would be them asking for help in this cruel world. | |
| Tool – Jimmy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Tool basically hides multiple meanings in their songs, so any of them could be right, and there's really no way of telling which is the right one. | |
| Avenged Sevenfold – Afterlife Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
FINALLY! NO ONE TRASHING A7X! I really don't know it it's about a drug overdose or not, but i wouldn't take it in a literal sence. I do agree that it could be about a person wanting to go back to start things over. love all of A7X. |

Plus Avenged Sevenfold is sick. I don't give a fuck if they changed their music styles, but they still kick ass. |

| Avenged Sevenfold – Darkness Surrounding Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I see it as this: The song is about how people fuck over another so easly, how ever it may be wether it's critisizm or pure hatred. Not the fact that they do, but how they do it. A horrible way for the victim. The dead would be the people who fuck you over. And the things like the crows and such is just the way everything becomes afterwords, just depressing. When it says, "you can feel the thougts of the dead," i see it as you are aware of their existance and you don't know weather it's good, or bad. When it says, "just enjoy it," it could be saying to let it be. It's saying that other people don't matter. That's just how i see it. |

| Trivium – Becoming The Dragon Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I can't stand how people compair bands to other bands. Trivium is Trivium, and they aren't trying to copy anyone. Sure, their biggest influences are Metallica and Iron Madien, but that doesn't mean they're copying. Also, who cares why they changed their singing. I love Trivium because of the music. Pure and simple. I like the music that just so happens to have screaming in it, and those who don't have it. Have your oppinions, all of you, but don't come to the point where you're saying that a band sucks because you don't like what they do. If a band truly sucks, then they'd have no fans, contracts, or what ever. On another note, i don't think that this song has any metaphoric value, because not all songs are supposed to have one. I also agree that the song is a story about a fish turning into a dragon, because Matt Heafy is Japaneese, and was probably told that story when he was a child, or what ever. But i would like to say that if this song is an alegory, than it's also about the maturity of a person. How they must conquore challenges to reach your dreams. The goals might be increadibly difficult to fulfill, but in the end, you'll be at the top. |

| As I Lay Dying – Nothing Left Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| through my eyes, it's the apocolypse, better yet, Judgement day. Everyone sins, and only a small portion confesses their sins. Sinners go to hell unless they confess. In the case of the song, it appears that no one confesses, and after God's Judgement, there is literally nothing left. | |
| System of a Down – Holy Mountains Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"Holy Mountians" The Armanian people were the first people to take up Christianity. THE FIRST! And if anyone knows ancient Armenia, the area is filled with mountains. Along with, "hearing the holy mountians," and "feeling the haunting presence," that indeed means all the people whom have died. "The River Aras." This is the river that runs through ancient Armenia. I'll add to that in the next paragraph. For basically the rest of the song. In the story Forgotton Fire (a novel about the Armenian Genocide), the main character talks about how men were taken to "buisness meetings" in Constantinople. They were killed. Thus the line, LIAR!!!! And with DEMON!!!!!, the Turks killed a hell of a lot of people. It also mentions that in the Aras River ( or however you refer to it) people were shot and killed, then dumped into the river. They killed people and dumped them. when the genocide was over, and the people who survived probably gave they're fallen family members a proper burial. Finally, with Freedom..... It all dates back to the Ottoman Empire. After WWI, the empire started to fall with people wanting, and getting their independence as quoted by rodrigo_anti_choli. But when the Armenians wanted their independence, the Turks retaliated with genocide because they were pissed off. In the end, they ended up getting their own, little country. thus, freedom |

| The Human Abstract – Vela, Together We Await the Storm Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
They aren't that big because they signed with a rare, independent record company: Hopeless. (they were Avenged Sevenfold's record company for Waking the Fallen, which is not popular compaired to City of Evil which was Warner Bros.) That aside, I totally agree with inconys, but i could relate the song to the band where they are having a hard life trying to make money, with a small record company. My idea might not be what the song is about, at all, but that's how i see it. |

| Tool – The Pot Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Dygear, i'm not usually one to criticize, but there is no way that you nailed the lyrics. People tend to not realize what Kangarooing is. Through my ideas, it is when a cop spends his time arresting potheads, and getting them sent to jail without a fair jury trial. He also arrests other people and calls them potheads because the judge will usually take the side of the cop over everyone else, not needing a jury. The juduicial system is fucking over all of those who are either not hurting others, or didn't even do anything, when they should be working on real crimes. |

| Tool – Jimmy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The song is with out a doubt about his mother when he was a child. Because when he was 11, his mother became paralized. Sending him to live with his father. Ever since then, he hated god with the passion, which also explains the meanings of Opiate and Judith. It is in no way, shape, or form linked to September 11 like the dumbass REDRUM claims, because this song wasn't released untill 1996. | |
