| Sabaton – Inmate 4859 Lyrics | 11 years ago |
|
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witold_Pilecki "In 1940, Pilecki presented to his superiors a plan to enter Germany's Auschwitz concentration camp at Oświęcim (the Polish name of the locality), gather intelligence on the camp from the inside, and organize inmate resistance. Until then, little had been known about the Germans' running of the camp and it was thought to be an internment camp or large prison rather than a death camp. His superiors approved the plan and provided him with a false identity card in the name of "Tomasz Serafiński." On 19 September 1940, he deliberately went out during a Warsaw street roundup (łapanka) and was caught by the Germans, along with some 2,000 innocent civilians (among them, Władysław Bartoszewski). After two days detention in the Light Horse Guards Barracks, where prisoners suffered beatings with rubber truncheons, Pilecki was sent to Auschwitz and was assigned inmate number 4859." |

| Sabaton – Wehrmacht Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I wouldn't say about a single soldier, more about the young men who fought in the Wehrmacht together. It's about how the young men of Germany were, you could say brainwashed, into doing the bidding of the Nazi's and Hitler. They were told they would be building an empire that would last a thousand years, they were stronger than anyone, they could never be defeated in battle, Germans would rise above everything and everyone because it was their duty as the master race. Eventually they start getting defeated in battle, they start to realize that it was all for naught, and the young men who were only doing what they were told to do faced the same punishment as those who told them to do it("What about the men executing orders?"). | |
| Sabaton – Coat of Arms Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
At dawn envoy arrives Morning of October 28th "No day" proven by deed Descendants of Sparta, Athens and Crete! Look north, ready to fight Enemies charge from the hills To arms! Facing defeat! There's no surrender! There's no retreat! Time after time Force their enemies back to the line Call to arms banners fly in the wind For the glory of Hellas Coat of arms reading "Freedom or death!" Blood of king Leonidas Air raid pounding the land Bombers are flying both day and night Endure six days of rain Dropped by invaders bomb raid in vain Strike hard, the tables have turned Drive them back over the hills At arms! Just like before Soldiers, civilians, Hellas at war By their own hand Forced the enemy out of their land Call to arms, banners fly in the wind For the glory of Hellas Coat of arms reading "Freedom or death!" Blood of king Leonidas Just like their ancestors ages ago Fought in the face of defeat Those three hundred men Left a pride to uphold Freedom of death in effect Then, now again Blood of heroes saving their land Call to arms, banners fly in the wind For the glory of Hellas Coat of arms reading "Freedom or death!" Blood of king Leonidas Call to arms, banners fly in the wind For the glory of Hellas Coat of arms reading "Freedom or death!" Blood of king Leonidas Are the 100% correct lyrics, but you're right it's about the Greco-Italian war, but it was WWII not 1. |

| Sabaton – Into The Fire Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Indeed, it seems more like it's about a Broken Arrow call though, Broken Arrow was the code word for any available aircraft to assist in danger close airstrikes. Broken Arrow basically meant "Help us by bombing as close to us as possible", taking that into account, they accepted the possibility of friendly fire and ordinance being dropped upon friendly soldiers, even though it was something they tried not to do, it did happen, and i think this song is about a napalm strike in a Broken Arrow situation that hit too close and destroyed those who called it in. | |

| Bullet for My Valentine – Take It Out On Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I more agree with the Parent idea for this song, i think it's more of a father-son then anything else though, in most parental abuse relationships it's the father, i think the song is about the son finally getting tired of his father's abuse of him. The son want's the father to go after him again so that he can show how he's grown and that now he's strong enough to stop his father, he wants to show his father that he will no longer let him act like he has. | |
