Desoto Jones – Cap Gun Lyrics 17 years ago
Excellent job with the lyrics. Could have aligned it a bit more, and used capitalization... but, still, great job! Now I don't have to put all their lyrics up. Ha ha.

Immortal Technique – One (Remix) Lyrics 17 years ago
This is probably the most light-hearted, feel good song on the Revolutionary Volume 2. It is a great ending to the CD, and certainly gave me a feel of completion after listening through the entire album. But, this last song just makes me miss the album, and so I listen to it from the beginning again.

Tech N9ne – It's Alive Lyrics 17 years ago
This song, to me, sings "Fuck You" to everyone who said Tech N9ne couldn't make. He also might be mentioning subtly that people would look down on him just because he was a rapper from Kansas City. He's a damn fine rapper, and anyone who doesn't appreciate his music just because... well, they can suck my dick.

Big Mike, I think you hit the nail right on the head. But this song, to me, is very uplifting.

Bob Marley and the Wailers – Three Little Birds Lyrics 17 years ago
I remember hearing this song once, but it didn't become dear to me until after viewing "I Am Legend" on the big screen. I almost broke a tear when Will Smith was singing it (by the way, something to look forward to in that movie [his singing, which indeed was amusing]).

So, anyways, you can go as deep into the meaning of the song as you want, but everything Bob says in it remains the same. The message, from my point of view, is quite clear. Bob endured the same, less or more, emotions and dramatic events as we do, but always had those "three little birds" to keep his head up. He saw the beauty in things no-one else really does, which reflected on the beauty in him.

And by the way, philosophically/spiritually speaking, weed is not a drug, but an herb, and way of life.

VAST – Thrown Away Lyrics 17 years ago
Hardly any comments on this song, but its production and music quality is far superior than other mainstream songs. Something is certainly wrong there.

This certainly sounds like a lyric I would have written. I like to keep my work vague, but base it around certain issues. Many of them being relationship-related. The lyrics to this song doesn't sound much different from that.

He sounds infatuated with whoever had abandoned him, but that person, whoever it was, gave him one of the greatest tastes of life he had ever experienced. He was accepted, but then was abandoned by the same individual. That's what I received from looking at the words here.

Soulja Boy – Crank That (Soulja Boy) Lyrics 17 years ago
You know... I really liked this song at one point mainly because of the dance and music video. I heard about it from a few friends of mine while the song was currently all the rage in Hawaii. So, I tried it out, and it was pretty fun. However, since it has become such a horrible example of what media focuses on, I've discontinued listening to it. It's definitely catchy... I'll give Soulja Boy that. Also, it's strange that if you read the lyrics without listening to the song, you could almost identify some sort of African bebop/blues going on, using some modern lingo. It's interesting to sing it that way, too. Anyways, nothing against fans of this artist, but there are much better rappers like Immortal Technique.
