It's a stormy relationship. Everybody changes, you know them one minute, but not the next. It's up and down. "Well there's nothing I truly desire There's nothing that I really want But the times I find myself in the fire You choose between the right and the wrong" Like: I'm really happy, I don't want anything else now. Then all of a sudden. Why did you do that? You know it hurts me. "I wish I could control all my judgements Understand every move Take my mind and all of it’s voices Tell me what should I do" I don't know why I'm hurting you. I try not to but I am, we're falling apart. Tell me who I am. Tell me what to do, tell me how to change. "Sometimes I feel like I’m stuck in your head And I wonder (who d'you think you're talking to) One day I’ll move get away From these feelings getting stronger (who d'you think you're talking to) Sometimes I feel like it's not so fun To see what's under (who d'you think you're talking to) Let me out let me out I don’t think I can stand it any longer (who d'you think you're talking to)" Sometimes I really get you. I understand who you are, I wonder why you change. "who d'you think you're talking to" because you don't know me right now. One day I'll finally break away but I love you. "Sometimes I feel like it's not so fun To see what's under " I don't understand you now. I don't want to know who you really are. Stop loving me. Let me go. But then they drag themselves back to... "I remember being part of that era I remember being so far from home All the times I needed someone to hear me Cos I’ve never felt so much on my own" Reminiscing back to their youth. Being completely alone and finding each other. "All the trouble that you have with your future All the rules that make your life so secure There are people who will give their opinions But tell me what do they know" But then hindsight. You knew it'd be hard, you know there's no rules and everybody warned you. But what did they know? What did we know? |

| Klaus Nomi – After The Fall Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I agree with Zabasaz. Total Eclipse and After the Fall go together it seems. The end and the beginning. It's a song about hope. A new beginning, it isn't great, but we're still alive at the very least. "We'll build our radioactive castles out in the radioactive air" I really like the quoted lines. I think they mean a lot to the song and to the listener. "We'll build our radioactive castles" Radioactive most likely because of the nuclear war of Total Eclipse. Pretty much everything will become radioactive after the fallout. Also why castles? Castles were built for communities to live in, under protection. Like a fort. So, if we build these castles, there must be some kind of attack going on. Otherwise we wouldn't need the protection of them. "Out in the radioactive air" I think that we build them there because we can't inhabit our own world. It's a depressing song. We lose the earth, we are still fighting, still in radiation but yet we have hope. |

| Klaus Nomi – Lightning Strikes Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Klaus Nomi didn't write Lightning Strikes. It's a cover of Lou Christie. So, lyrically, he is not ahead of his time at all here. However, there's no doubt that Klaus was ahead of his time. Just not here ^_^ |
