You know what? Vulcanfx5 is right. The Fat man is a bomb. Nevertheless, the song meaning is the same. We are hypocrites if we say we love our country and do nothing to make the necessary changes. |

The song mentions our air alluding to pollution etc. And we complain and say that we feel "moot" which is an excuse to do nothing. The correct word is moot, bytheway. We put off doing anything about the problems, and when "They" the various pestilences that threaten us, come for us, no one is gooing to sing our blues. |

C'mon you guys! The meaning is so obvious and no one gets it. It is a criticism of American society---much like "Bleed America." The water coming, refers to global warming. The "She" in the song is America. We say we love America yet we do nothing to stop the problems that threaten her. The "fat man" is the lazy, complacent citizens of America. We let America's factories rust, [this refers to the American economy] yet we say we trust "her." America provides us with luxurious lifestyles [the silk lining our bed] yet we let the viruses spread. |
